Norseman Maritime Charters offers
for charter two ships, Norseman and Norseman II, which combines
exceptional seaworthiness with an array of features that insure passenger
comfort. Both ships are similar in design and layout, with Norseman
II being slightly larger in length and deck space. With three
spacious decks there is ample room for gatherings of up to 12, as
well as privacy for rest and reflection. The 1,580 sq.ft. of
open space on the Bridge and Main Decks provides researchers
will work room for multiple activities including wildlife observation,
equipment and instrumentation set-up, data gathering, and small boat
deployment.
We understand that our ships
are your home away from home and should provide you with comfortable
and enjoyable accommodations, in addition to an excellent research
platform. A good night’s rest and well prepared meals are important
foundations for an active day and a successful research mission.
Our ships’ are designed to support team building and the collegiality
that working in the maritime environment fosters.
Norseman and Norseman II both have five private
staterooms that are spacious and tastefully decorated. Each stateroom
has its own private head, vanity and shower. When used as doubles,
10 passengers are accommodated and each stateroom has individual
temperature controls for additional comfort. A single stateroom is
located on the Main Deck and four staterooms are located on the Cabin
Deck. Staterooms 4 and 5 can be arranged as triples, which allow
the charter to very comfortably accommodate 12 passengers.
Our gracious and comfortable Dining Rooms are designed to bring
groups together around tastefully prepared meals reflecting local
seafood and fresh regional products.
The Libraries contain reference books, regional lore and maritime
stories in comfortable space designed for enjoying music, catching-up
on reading or relaxing with colleagues. With AV support, the Explorer
Lounges are excellent places to have meetings, give lectures, and
set up computers and data analysis work stations. Whether you are
in the Library, Dinning Room or Lounge, the large picture windows
surrounding the Main Deck never let you forget the magnificent landscapes
that surround you.
Importantly, with both Norseman and Norseman II have
crews of four that include the captain, first mate, chief engineer,
and steward/chef. With a passenger to crew ratio of 2.5 to 1, Norseman
Maritime Charters stands ready to provide an exceptionally high
level of passenger service and research support. Additional crew are
